This would ensure 2 things you can download portable apps and at the same time have an online account with all the applications hosted there so that you can manipulate all the files on your computer or on your flash drive using Online Apps version,no need to give space to store files, music, video and other stuff on the online version and only host the apps as online apps,is it possible...if so then in future the network become the computer and how about and I don't know this hosting portableapps as as online version on facebook using Facebook Platform so that maximum number of people can get access to it those who are not familiar with open source software....is this possible? as having applications on your pen drive is great too!!!!it's quite different from having it on your computer and in case of system crash losing not only your data but also your applications and going online again to download installation files and get everything in order again,at least portableapps has made it possible that I can have all my applications with me,carry it anywhere and not worry about system crashes making me lose my apps,if somehow the portableapps suite can be turned online not for storage of files but for manipulating files stored on your computer or a portable device it would be great as well.
Erm, online applications are traditionally made using other languages, servers, etc. etc. Must chance is JAVA apps.
So, I think to answer your question.... no.
There seem to be lots of services that offer the features you describe. How would you suggest a PortableApps service of this nature differentiate itself from all the others? How would it get paid for?
The answer to the question "can you" is "sure, it can be done". The question would be, where do the resources come from?

My corporate pc is blocked from many many sites, including file/webhost sites such as MediaFire, social-network sites such as MySpace & YouTube, and sites categorized "Interactive Web Applications."
So I need to keep all my apps close at hand if I want to use them from work. I suspect I am not alone in this.
