I have got Cube 2 Sauerbraten working off my 4gb Kingston data traveler with only one problem it doesn't show up in the menu (not even the uninstall).
Other than that not problem, a launcher for this game would be great.

X:\PortableApps\Folder will show up in the menu.

OK I don't know why the exe's for this folder aren't showing up but I am currently running "Geek menu" (I prefer to use John's version but geek menu gave a couple of extra options that I liked) Geek menu may be hiding the uninstall.exe in the Sauerbraten folder. It has vast amounts of options and so that maybe possible.

Although it´s hardly small it's good value for space on your stick as really has 2 games one RPG and one FPS these are launched via bat files
FPS version: sauerbraten.bat
RPG version: eisenstern.bat
I found this comment on the cube 2 forum:
I guess he means portable in the sense of launching sauerbraten from a memorystick. Even that is possible, just copy the sauerbraten directory to a memorystick and carry it along. You may even copy the Mac, Linux and Windows executables into the same directory, so you can play sauer on any platform.
Very cool it now just needs a launcher.

Previously I said... "I have got Cube 2 Sauerbraten working off my 4gb Kingston data traveler" I need to change this... It works on the PC where the game was installed BUT not others, damn. despite the comment below on the cube 2 forum. I will ask some question on the cube 2 forum later.

Having taken a look around the "Sauerbraten" files and folders I eventually found that to get Cube2 working off my stick on other machine I had to run "vcredist_x86.exe" from the BIN folder - This installs the "Microsoft Visual C++..." needed to play the game.
This may mean that the game might not really be portable, unless the runtime libraries could be run from the stick as well...
OH well... nevermind, guess I'll stick to Assaultcube
