but I wonder why "The forum is temporarily unavailable due to technical problems." and has been for a long time?
Maybe it's because they disabled all accounts
that use a free e-mail service ? So there's nobody left to post
there's still admin rights required.

I don't think someone should be running a software such on this on a public computer... personal data is compromised very easily like this....
Slackware 12 for system
MCP (For XP and Server 2003)
Network + Certified
aim is "nycjv321" (minus quotes)
you shouldn't present personal data to a public computer,
truecrypt or not ..

Absent a truecrypt forum, thought I'd ask here: does anyone know if the new encryption schemes -- XTS mode and SHA-512 headers -- in Truecrypt 5 make the volumes inaccessible to existing version of TC Explorer?
Looks like it is not compatible with the new features:

formerly rayven01
I doubt the developer will be able to make it compatible as he just made a GUI for an existing app that since then has been discontinued by its original developer. I still hope TCExplorer will be updated using TrueCrypt's source code or even better included in the official TrueCrypt as an extra tool.
I have asked / suggested to have something similar but it might be beyond their targets for TrueCrypt. They also might reason its just a security risk using truecrypted content on a PC where you dont have admin rights.
I still hope a solution comes because although its not wise to use encrypted content on a untrusted PC, sometimes it might be needed and besides, I mainly use it in case I loose my USB Flash Drive.
