I found this program which will take a dvd and shrink it to fit on a writable dvd for backup purposes. I was looking at the website (http://www.dvdshrink.org/what_en.php) and was able to determine that it is freeware, but it is not open source. I think this is a great program, but was wondering if there were any portable, open source alternatives?

Also, that software hasn't been updated since around 2005, and as far as what I've read, it will not be updated.
He knows it isn't open source, he said he's looking for an open source and possibly portable alternative.
