Make certain applications recognizeable by portable apps menu

I'm not quite sure where to post this so I will try here first.

I am basically trying to find out whether or not you can add stand-alone programs like .exe programs that can be used soely on a USB that are not available on PortableApps.com and have the Portable Apps Menu display it?

For example...

I am working for a computer repair service. I already have it to where when I insert my thumb drive, PortableApps Menu autoruns via modified autorun.inf. When it launches, am I able to display any .exe file in the portable app menu? If not, is there a .bat file or modification I can make to do this?

PS! Please let me know if I am breaking any rules for asking this or if I am breaking any law and I will cease immediately. Thank you

-John

create a folder for it ->

create a folder for it -> /PortableApps/[app name] then put the app in there.

also, please search in the future. it is often quicker than waiting for a reply, and there's a good chance your question has been asked before. it also keeps the forums a little less cluttered by preventing unneeded duplicate topics.

Thanks, and welcome to PortableApps.com

Hmm...

Well I tried that but when I try select "Options", "Install a new App" in the Portable App Menu, it will only allow me to install .paf.exe files. I would like to view also .exe files in the PAM.How can this be done?

PAF Only

Options - Install a New App is for apps in PortableApps.com Format only. The menu lets the PortableApps.com Installer know where the platform is installed and automatically refreshes when the installation is complete.

For non-PAF apps, you add them manually by creating a folder and dropping the EXE in as outlined on the support page here:

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

You don't need to run the "Install a new App" option, you just follow the steps I listed above, or that John linked to in his post. You have to have the menu closed when you do this.
