DRUPAL WARNING

I don't know if this site uses Drupal, but yesterday, my Mum told me that there is xsomething about Drupal going around that it is doing something illegal and that you can't unsubscribe from anything that Drupal has going. I just thought I'd mention it. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it in any other posts, but I think this is a very serious situation. Does this site use Drupal at all?

Sorry I've repeated this, it is just that I'm not too sure where I should have posted it. I thought I'd make a new topic about it as it is pretty major.

Yes and No.
  1. Yes, this site uses Drupal for everything; and
  2. No, Drupal is not illegal or doing anything illegal. Your mother may have been referring to a site which uses Drupal.

What Drupal Is

I think your mum is confused. Drupal is an open source content management system that's used to run this site and the forums. It doesn't do anything to your home PC at all. And it's most certainly legal. It's used by folks like Mozilla, IBM and several universities, for instance.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Thanks for that!

Oh, OK, thanks for that John and Ryan. I really appreciate it. Thank goodness it's OK! I think Mum was saying that there are some sites that use Drupal and if you use them and sign up, and then want to unsubscribe, you'll have a lot of trouble. I had a feeling this site was good anyway!
