Hello!
I have some personal programs (ones I've made, and ones friend of mine have made) and was wondering if it would be possible to put a shortcut to them in the PortableApps 'menu'.
Please add this feature.
Thanks in advance,
Panarchy

for a simple program, one exe, this should work well.
If not try using the search box in the upper right hand corner for more advanced solutions. If that doesn't work let us know.

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
Thanks, I'll give it a shot
Thanks, seems like I had the files I needed inside another root folder... oops!
Thanks once again,

If you are willing to release the programs you've made as OpenSource you can even share them with us

Okay, well I'm about to put Office Ultimate on it, (with PDF addin) using thinstall.
But before I share it, I would like to make sure it is legal to share.
Is it?
not, Microsoft Office is definatly not open source.
The app has to be Open Source. Using Thinstall to package apps as stand-alone executable is OK. as long as you either have permission from the author or the app is OpenSource
Not all proprietary apps have non-distribution clauses in their licenses.
MS Office, however (especially since it costs money) does.
Why is there so much misinformation when it comes to distribution? One only needs to read the license. It's not complicated...
Vintage!
I found a website that illegally Thinstalls apps for people. I am not gonna post the linky.
Insert original signature here with Greasemonkey Script.
I found the same site a few years back. The site even links to the GPL and Source Code for each app that is Thinstalled. Not sure how the site hasn't been found yet and shut down.
Most open source software is under the GPL. GPLed software can not be packaged into a thinstall package as you're combining GPL licensed stuff with proprietary stuff into a single binary. This is a violation of the GPL. I had confirmed this with the FSF in relation to a different proprietary packager/installer in another instance and they said that it was not permitted. Anyone packaging GPLed apps into thinstall binaries without the permission of all copyright holders (all contributors) is doing so illegally. But most people posting 'thinstalled' stuff are either doing this, packaging pirated commercial software or repackaging freeware without permission... all of which are illegal.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
