Not an answer to your question, but please scramble your email address a bit so spam bots can't access it, maybe display it as
e_e_run e e[at]g m a i l[dot]com
then instruct responders to remove all _ and spaces, and replace the [at] and [dot] with the proper symbol

to the nature of USB drives you probably can, a simple seach using your favorite web search engine for 'free file recovery software' should be sufficient.
and the files are gone now, right? First: always use the preview function to check what´s copied or deleted before starting the sync process
Second: if You haven´t done much so far, the files could be found by an uneraser like AVIRA unerase personal http://www.free-av.com/antivirclassic/avira_unerase.html .. but carefully read the instructions!
Third : with some experience use Windows system recovery via Start/programms/ and go back to the last system recovery point, save Your data and undo the system recovery after...

So far, just playing around with things, I have accidentally deleted a partition that had 10 yrs worth of rat-packing and got it back. "Oops"
AND...
accidentally locked my encryption keys in the encrypted partition and shutdown the PC
(that one almost made a grown man cry)
I had to boot-up, possibly loosing the keys, and was luckily able to recovered them...
So, all hope is not lost as long as you have not written data to the drive. The more data written the lower the chance.
Use UNDELETE PLUS on the drive and hopefully you can recover the original that was moved/deleted. It is a simple EXE and now resides perm in my PAM structure.
Tried undelete plus and avaira unerase. Neither worked.
When I relised that mirror with copy i aborted the process.
On the saved file I have the following message at the end:-
Removed t 2 (D)\ooVoo.exe
21:31:24: Error: Can not enumerate files in directory '\\EINSTEIN\Albert 2 (D)\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-343818398-287218729-725345543-1001\' (error 5: access is denied.)

21:31:40: Error: Can not enumerate files in directory '\\EINSTEIN\Albert 2 (D)\System Volume Information\' (error 5: access is denied.)
What else can i do to recover my data?
Thanks
lines at the end at nothing to be concerned about, that is simply Toucan telling you that is couldn't look through protected operating system folders. As for recovering your files I would seriously consider trying more programs, I have had instances when files that were ignored by other apps have been found by a different one. An application that I have personally had good luck with is called Restoration, I dont have the address to hand, but a quick search on Snapfiles.com should dig it out.
destination:
folder1 folder2 file1 file2 file4
source:
folder1 file1 file2 file3 file4*
i planned to keep folder2 in destination itself and copy file 3 and overwrite file4. i tried the mirror (update) which i later read about as being the mode wherein files/folders non-existent on one side would be deleted from other.
the dangerous thing that happened is that the preview did not show that folder2 was going to be removed and i went ahead with the actual operation n suddenly i see...removed removed removed and i go "oh no oh no oh no!" and toucan probably smiles n says "ho ho ho ho ho ho!"
well there were few files and i immediately used recuva to recover as much as possible.
i wonder why the preview was not accurate. it sure is dangerous that way. think of all my friends coming to beat me up because i recommended such software
besides that...i usually use update which i find to be reliable everyday for work. thank you very much and all the best wishes

that is nasty, I´ll look into that as soon as possible, it´s a nasty bug indeed.
Steve: could you reproduce the bug?
