I saw a post on Lifehacker about this Firefox Extension, 'Simple Mail'
The extension is a e-mail client that works right inside of Mozilla Firefox. It supports your regular e-mail protocols, it has a nice interface using Tango icons, features some intuitive search, signature, and it doesn't seem to be missing much in an e-mail client. I tried it out, it worked great for me so far.
I checked my machine, and can't find any settings in the registry or around anywhere else. Messages, attachments, etc all seem to be stored within the Firefox profile.
I wanna ask some more people to look into this, and check it is portable. I think if it does prove clean, it would be a decent idea to add it to the list.
The extension is very small.
Here's some screenshots and the link:
a couple weeks ago... I think it is portable, but I don´t like it... I prefer my good old Thunderbird portable...
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
So do I, but some don't want the whole Thunderbird package, so I think this is worth a mention on the apps page.
Patrick,
Add it to what list?
It's a Add-On that anyone can get from Mozilla.
I'm not sure we really want to get into Recommended Add-Ons/Extensions, the list will go on and on and on ...
"Street lights, people,... walkin up and down the boulevard"
Tim
Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
Seeing as we only have one mail client, I thought adding this as it seems stable and works great for me, I see no reason not to add it, just as we recommend FireFTP when there's FileZilla.
Edit: To better explain it's, it's recommended because it's a portable program, we're not recommending extensions, we're recommending extensions that are portable programs, (FireFTP, Simple Mail, Chatzilla).
but, Patrick, check npop uk version...
