There seems to be a strange similarity between a possible study for the windows 7 start menu and the PortableAppsMenu.
I just found a blog

in which the author states:
An anonymous tipster pointed out to me in a recent (private) Windows feedback survey sent out by Microsoft, asked how often users use the Start menu search functionality, was a screenshot highlighting the aforementioned feature but not of Windows Vista and certainly not anything we’ve ever seen before.
The most logical explanation would be of course, this is a mockup of Windows 7.

that just looks like the vista start menu and search box, just like everything else on Win7 Milestone 1. no similarity to PAM.

Where is the similarity?
What's different between that and Vista? I dont have Vista, but I've seen it running on a friend's machine, and I'm pretty sure that search bar is there. How is this similar to the PortableApps.com Menu?

Yeah, that supposed Windows 7 menu and Windows Vista menu are identical, but like Vista, Windows 7 will change his appearance drastically until the final release...
