I just downloaded VLC and can't get it to install. I've dowloaded twice and each time I get a 9.5 Mb file. When I click on the .exe nothing at all happens. My specs are P4 3.2Ghz, 2Gb RAM, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Vid card, ASUS P4P8X SE MoBo. Windows XP Home.

check the MD5Sum?
Its displayed on the Apps page and you can generate it using winMd5Sum Portable. If they match you know you don't have a corrupt download.
Another possibility could be that the copy on the Sourceforge server you are using is corrupted and it will work if you try another one.

Found the problem. It was my comodo firewall.
