This seems strange, I downloaded the most recent version of PFF (2.0.0.12), installed it and ran it. I navigated away from my homepage messed around a bit and closed PFF. After the program was closed there was a registry entry left (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\mozilla.org) I thought this was strange. I deleted the entry manually and ran PFF again. I just opened it and closed it, I never navigated away from the homepage. Checked the registry again, nothing left. I again ran PFF and navigated away from the homepage, closed it, and checked the registry. Again, the same entry is left. It seems if I navigate away from the homepage, PFF fails to clean up the registry entry. Is this a bug with the launcher or is there something I'm doing wrong?
don't have a local copy and made a clean install (no update), right?
What OS do you use?
Do you have Admin rights? I guess you do - otherwise you couldn't write to HKLM.
I never had the problem. But maybe its something new...

There is no local copy of firefox installed on this computer. I am using Windows XP SP2 with admin rights. I've noticed that the launcher cleans up files left in the Documents and Settings folder but it fails to clean the registry. It's almost as if either John didn't give it the ability to clean the registry or the launcher closes before the registry is cleaned.
Keep in mind that there are no other extensions or plugins installed. I simply downloaded the "install" from here, ran it and installed to my desktop, ran PFF, and closed it. I hope John can shed a little light on this issue.
