Can't find "Open" on "File" menu

Hi again!

I can't find "open" option in TBP. I have instaled the "Locale Switcher" addon, as seen in https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable/localization, to change the language. Maybe it doesn´t work? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance!

You have to install Your langpack..

to switch to Your language http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/2.0.0.6/win3...
for spanish it should be es_es or es_ar
rightclick save to Your desktop and and install, then switcher should work Wink

No!

He has to install into Thunderbird!
1)open thunderbird
2)goto tools/addons
3)You see the tb addons window, press install
4) a new window lets You choose the xpi from the desktop, say ok
5)after install restart TB and change switcher, you´re done

Hey, I made the same mistake while typing..

made an immediate secret edit right after posting Smile

So @ Laszlo.
the strange charackters appear when You have the wrong langfile in switcher.
Two options: -
if You can do anything : install the langpack, restart and adjust the switcher
if there´s nothing to change delete Your copy restart anew , put Your profile files into the profile folder, then start, rightclickdownload switcher and langfile to Your desktop and go on with install as described above.
Rightclickdownload is to prevent the files from installing directly into Your Firefox-
Smile

Your welcome..

and with Your FFportable it´s much easier to do the same, you just need the switcher and the spanish langfile http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.12/wi... for Firefox. Open the FF addons window and draw them into it, you´re done.

BTW .xpi are renamed .zip files, it´s just another filename to install the zipped files directly into the mozilla apps Smile

Thanks again

Doing it in FFX doesn't meant a problem, it was easy. But in sunbird I have the "quick locale switcher" addon set to spanish and there's no change, keeps english shown. I'm going to try "your way" Smile and see what happens! (sorry if it's offtopic :$)

EDIT: It works as well! Life is wonderful! Blum

Fixed

The instructions were outdated on that page. I've updated them to work with Thunderbird 2.0 properly.

EDIT: BTW the link to the langpacks still points to 2.0.0.6 .xpi,
ok it´s been fixed while I still was typing..:)
