Visual Basic Working Model

I need a portable version of this. Anyone know how to make this happen or know of a free app thats is already ported?

Dev-C++ is an IDE for developing using C++. Visual Basic is something completely different. SharpDevelop is an open source IDE that gives you the option to develop in VB.NET or C#.

Is it portable?
I was thinking about learning vb to program a ppc. Would this take the place of buying microsofts version?

It is not portable.... Or at least I couldn't get it to work.
