I just did a fix for a problem with infrarecorder that needs to go online asap and i can't get a hold of John. Is there anyone who can post the new file?

John would have to upload it....you could upload to a temporary location for now...make a new forum thread for it, or use this one, and post a link to the temp location

i posted a temp link until he gets back but i'm still concerned about people downloading directly from sourceforge.net. i hope he gets back online soon
Thanks...that should be fine for now.

Just out of curiosity, what's the showstopper that necessitated removing the link? I just used InfraRecorder Portable tonight without an issue... furthermore, on InfraRecorder's page, you say "link removed due to a small bug."
Seems like a lot of panic for a small bug... reminds me of myself, actually.
well it created and left a folder in c:\documents and settings\travis and it doesn't harm the computer but i'm a huge perfectionist and the fact that i missed that problem kills me. the only way i found to keep everything portable now was for it use c:\infrarecordertemp for a temp directory and then deletes it when done.
I believe both Ryan and Marko have release privleges on SourceForge. Ryan is a couple hours from coming on yet, and Marko may be a bit, too.
Edit: Also, Travis... if you're going to remove the link do not write John as many people don't know who he is and we're trying to keep the site fairly professional as I know at least John is, and bold your text to make it more visible. Example.
Link temporarily removed due to minor bug. A revised download will appear within the next 12-24 hours. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
And I gotta say I wouldn't put an external link to another download, as it's not digitally signed, it's not an official download source, on and on and on..., etc.
... and I'm able to upload the file.
But I can not sign the installer.
The upload of developer version, pre-releases betas and so on is no problem, the upload of a final release should come as digital signed installer by John (or if it still signed by me or Ryan).
We should discuss the way we will handle with such problems.

I pulled the link remotely this AM. The Rev 2 still has issues (it assumes a hard coded path of C:\Something will be writeable... which you can never do). I'm taking a look at it now and will post shortly.
In the future, if it's a genuine showstopper, remove the link and write a short apology/explanation. If not, leave it until a bug fix is done and verified working.
The Rev 2 release with bugs and without the digital signatures means we need to do the actual release as Rev 3. Remember, it's not a race... it's better to do it right than fast.
