Support Forums

Okay I know we need to support users with any problems they may face with our apps. However our list is growing and it's going to get messy to have a forum for each app. Especially since each apps forum isn't used very often and John's been cranking out the new apps like mad. So instead of having 30 different forums would it be possible to just create one App Support Forum?

Maybe fewer forums instead

I think that only one forum for all apps would me bad. I think that we should have forums for:

Firefox Portable;
Thunderbird Portable;
Messengers (Pidgin and Miranda);
Text Processors (OpenOffice, Abiword, Notepad++);
Games;
and Others.

Blue is everything.

thats a good idea

Bug Apps get their own (FF, TB, OOO) the others are grouped by category.
Second that solution Smile

I think

for bigger Apps like FF, TB, OOO and others like Clamwin, Notepad or Pidgin a separate forum is wise. But a lot of the smaller or more recently released Apps don't have their own Forum and don't have their own Support page.

But I think that some rarely used App-Forums like Audacity (17 threads), Sumatra (15, Sudoku (20) could be removed.
One Forum per App is definitively too much.

Categories

I know I've said so in the forums before, but let me reiterate. We're going to be switching to category forums for support. So there will be one for each category in the app list. That's why I stopped adding them for new apps and we're currently using Other for them. Each category will have a list of the most popular apps below it on the main forum page.

I may keep Thunderbird and Firefox with their own forums due to popularity. Possibly OpenOffice.org as well.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Oh okay

That sounds like it would be better. I hadn't seen it before so I was curious. Thanks for the reply John. Smile
