When will I have the ability to create portable applications like you guys do?

When will I have the ability to create portable applications like you guys do?

how much time does it take to learn to create portable open source applications,is there a way to convert apps(open source)into web-wares,if it does and I have the right to use,copy,modify,redistribute open source apps,can I use portableapps for this purpose later on??? Finally why can't a web browser be an Operating System? a Word Processor-a Media Player and an e-mail client- an anti-virus software?

Simple

you can use a program such as the PAC or Lapwing, or, you can start looking under other/source folders in the releases to look at the code. Web-apps are totally different, they have to be written in flash, javascript, java, or python. These apps aren't designed to. When they say copy....., they mean, that you can do pretty much anything except sell as a closed source app. Yes, you can base work off of these launchers. A web browser can't be an operating system because it only works in an operating system :P. If you want online, check out glidedigital.com, and for online virus scanning, check out virustotal or jotti.
