Do You Have Access To The system32 Folder? in WINDOWS Folder?
Na na na, come on!
He's on an admin account, I'm sure he does. I have the same issue and I also have access, on an admin account.
Ill Check It Out May Be A Few Hrs. Very Busy With Something Else
Na na na, come on!
don't need to copy it to $SYSDIR. I think you just have to put it in the app dir

if u check the other forum's ive made. somewhere in there i already have and people still recieved the error. so this is the solution. lol
unless someone can redirect the directory for it. but, as usual, im not into advance coding.

This is like virtual PC, right?
Simplifying daily life through technology
not at all...Virtual PC creates a virtual computing environment, this application creates virtual desktops.

There was an error copying mingwm10.dll is missing from Data/files, or you are running this app from an account that does not have access to the system32 folder. This app will now close.
Edit: Oops, an update. Let me download the update first, and see if the error still applys. Also, by any chance, do I need admin privledges for this app?
Simplifying daily life through technology
due to the fact that this app needs a certain file from system32 if u dont have mingwm10.dll in the system32 folder and your running it from a non admin account. it might not work.
Na na na, come on!
Due to the admin requirement, this can't be considered for official release at the time. David, would you like to re-pick this up and try getting a workaround?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I don't want to do thread necromancing, but as I'm using Virtual Dimension for myself, I also tried to make it portable by myself. And this is my first try to package a portable application.
Now, there is something general I don't understand and where I hope someone could explain to me.
Okay, what did I do?
I made a package where virtualdimension.exe, HookDLL.dll, langEN.dll and mingwm10.dll are in the directory VirtualDimension\App\VirtualDimensionPortable.
If I start the exe directly in that directory (yes, also *without* admin privileges), everything works fine.
If I start it in the launcher, VD starts and the launcher (!) complains about the missing mingwm10.dll --- but VD has successfully started in the background. I can work with VD, change desktops, move windows and so on.
I also tried running the exe with an app bouncer (an exe that does nothing but open the target exe and closes then itself) to assure that VD is started in the correct directory. Same effect.
1. Why do I get an error popup from the launcher?
2. Why is the dll started with the launcher missing, but when directly started from the same directory, everything is okay?
