i think a good portable app were a filerecovery like

or
http://www.pandorarecovery.com/

i know, you can get pandora also as a portable app, but only to buy with a usb-stick

try Recuva its already been made portable by the developers. (The link i gave u is to portable version) Hope this helps u out, as Recuva is a very good product.
