Has anyone else experienced this?
I had been using Quicken 2008 for the sole purpose of keeping a checkbook register. I've imported my QIF file in Gnucash. The checkbook register does not show at all. I have to go to Tools then General Ledger to see an advanced version of the checkbook register. Here I cannot add additional entries and the reconcile button is greyed out.
I deleted my Gnucash profile and re-imported my QIF and have the same results. I don't know if this is a program issue or this is my impatience and dislike of accounting coming into play.
Is the Accounts tab showing? You need that to be able to open up registers for your accounts. If it's not showing, go to File->New->New Accounts Page. If I remember right there are some circumstances that after importing the Accounts page doesn't show by default. There's been some discussion on fixing that recently on the GnuCash mailing list.

Thanks Shawn!
I don't have an Accounts tab, but going through the File menu as you instructed works. I have all my imported data from Quicken and the Reconcile button is active.
Your help was appreciated.
