Pidgin: Trojan detected by AVG

I have been using AVG Free for many years and never have detected anything. I installed Pidgin today and while copying to a backup drive AVG detected one of the DLL files as a trojan. I can not remember the file name since it automatically took care of it. But there must be a DLL in the installation file that is either a true trojan, or a DLL that has a name identical to a trojan and that is why it is flagged from the database. Either way, I thought I should let you know. For now I deleted the program.

DLL File Name

I found the DLL file name in the Log file.
It is libthinice.dll
It was identified as a trojan horse generic10.biy

Can you verify this concern before I decide to install again?

had a lot of false alarms with Portable Apps. Please use a online scanner like http://www.virustotal.com to verify that it isn't a false alarm.

This particular issue has already been discussed in the forums, so it's a good idea to search first. If you'd searched for libthinice.dll, the first result would have been this thread.

Also, as clearly indicated on the support, contact and forum post pages, please verify that other antivirus products detect a given file before reporting it in the forums. AVG is notorious for having false positives with portable apps and they're usually pretty slow to fix it (as they are here... it's been two weeks already).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
