Where are the files?

Hard drive?
Flash drive?

Log off, reboot, try again.
If Flash drive try a disk check.

Are you sure you want to delete files in your profile?

Tim

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?

Try this

Your drive's FAT has been corrupted. It's not a hardware problem and can be fixed.

First attempt:

  • Open a command prompt [Win+R, type "cmd", press enter]
  • Type "chkdsk Secret /F" [replace X with correct drive letter], press enter

Second attempt (if first attempt doesn't solve it):

  • Back up files on the drive you want to keep to somewhere on your hard drive.
  • Open My Computer (Computer in Vista), right click your drive -> Format.
  • Especially on Vista, you'll want to select Quick Format, otherwise it'll take forever and probably use a bunch of write cycles in case of a flash drive.
  • Click Start (a button labeled Start, NOT the Start menu!) and let it go
  • Copy the files you backed up earlier back to the drive.

The second is a last resort and will completely wipe out your drive (which is why you back up the files first!)
