Will portable firefox run properly without that whole folder(default data)? I'm just wondering because that folder takes about 6 mb, which is alot in terms of my pathetic flash drive, and I need to conserve as much space as possible.

It's only about 25kb in the 3.0 Beta release and about 127kb in the 2.0.0.13 release. Unless, at some point, you installed an unofficial release not from PortableApps.com, which could have easily messed it up.

that's strange, shouldn't an update(from portable apps) overwrite it anyways?
The installer is specifically keyed to just remove files from older releases that aren't in the latest one which speeds up install time quite a bit over telling it to delete everything in multiple subdirectories (most USB flash drive controllers and flash ram are pretty slow). Unofficial packages have never been supported and can't be upgraded from.
