I always wonder why all these useful programs are java based.
Anyway, I haven't done any Java portablization, so jVLT I won't be able to do.
Tau Analyzer looks good, and I'll take a look at it. The license wasn't clear at first, as the site says Freeware, but the soruce is hosted at sourceforge. I did download the sources and read the headers so it's GPL 2.
I'll take a look at the analyzer this week. Let's see if it does what it claims on my collection, muhahaha.

about java, i installed it and i just use jVLT on my pc anyway. So how about a nonconcern-java-portable version for now?;)
