Homepage Settings Changed?

For some reason, when I started my Firefox Portable today, my homepage settings wre changed with one window opening and 2 tabs displaying. I think one tab was the default Firefox search page, the other was a page explaining Session Manager). When I opened Firefox later, the same thing happened. Then, later I downloaded a file and upon completion, the file displayed in the Download Pop-up box (I used to have my settings NOT remember downloaded files). Also, in the privacy tab, Firefox was no longer set to clear my private data when I close Firfox (another setting I USED to have).

It appears that some of my settings have restored to default. However, all my saved passwords are working and my bookmarks are there. Is there a reason for this? I haven't updated Firefox recently, at least not consciously.I was getting a message to update Firefox but kept clicking "Remind Me Later". That message is no longer appearing.

Also, could this be a sign that my Portable Firefox was infected with spyware or that any of my settings were extracted onto a local machine? I'm a bit paranoid with internet security.

Did you let your firefox

Did you let your firefox portable use the auto-update feature, or have multiple instances opened with a local and a portable version running? either of those could have screwed things up. It's not likely that it was spyware.

I'm not sure If I let it auto update. I've been using Firefox portable for almost a year and this hasn't happened before. I was running low on space on my USB key drive so I was avoiding an update until I cleared some space. However, I've been really busy at at work and maybe I accidentally updated it. Just wanted to know if this was a sign of some sort of malware or if my passwords were in jeopardy.

No malware. Auto-update doesn't work with FFP at the moment (supposedly there's a fix on the trunk but it hasn't made it to an official release) so if that happened, it may have screwed it up to pull some of its settings from the local copy. If Firefox wasn't installed locally, that would explain why they returned to their defaults.
