What is the best way for thsi?

Hi,

I have the latest FF on my Desk and want a copy of it with its info on my laptop as I am going away.

I already have the latest FF on the laptop but don't want to change it if I can help it.

Can I run both of them on the laptop and how can I install FFP using my current cookies, passwords, blah blah. Is it better to install on the Desk or on the laptop?

Thanks

oz

You can have

2 copies on your laptop. Thats not the problem. I don't know if everything will work if you just copy the whole folder from your desktop to your laptop cause the launcher only handles the first letter of all the paths and not the whole path. If the path is the same then there shouldn't be any problems.

If you don't have lots of extension/saved passwords and such, the easiest thing would be to only copy the bookmark.html file over and re-install the extensions you had on your "old" copy.

Install FFP on your laptop

Install FFP on your laptop and follow this instructions: Copying your local Firefox settings to Firefox Portable, but copying your desktop profile instead of the laptop one.
This way you can have both your desktop (FFP) and Laptop FF running on the same machine with individual settings.

You can also use your local Laptop Firefox using two different profiles, the default and the one you can copy from your desktop.

Here you can found the geek and the easy way to do this: Wink http://www.borngeek.com/firefox/profile-tutorial/

Good luck!
