And U3 doesn't even auto-start anymore, under Vista. U3 does it by emulating a CD-ROM drive (which obviously has to be done in hardware); CDs are allowed to run automatically in XP and earlier, but not in Vista for security reasons.
autolauncher 4U3.
Now the controller of my drive is corrupted.

You can change the behaviour of autorun in Vista ?
(I don't have it myself so I can't check it)
I'm pretty sure micro$soft will have "fixed" that
once they release their own "u3"-sticks ..
Vista, by default, ALWAYS shows the AutoPlay window for any media, including read-only discs. As in XP, you can tell AutoPlay to always perform a certain action (say, launching the app specified in autorun.inf) but that means the user still has to do something. It won't autorun by default.
Not sure how they'll make their version of U3 work around this without custom drivers...
Yeah, but how about "shellexecute" does that still work ?
Custom driver might be what they do now that m$ and sandisk
are in it together .. or they could use some of the u3-drives
DRM-functions.
Haven't tried shellexecute... I'll have to try that out and report back.
