There are some times (like now) that I have a breaking need to use the PA.com logo, but I remember that what I'm making is unofficial and that I can't becuse it's trademarked/I don't have permission. Anyone got a good unofficial logo designed for unofficial matters???

Is this for personal use? The logo NeoRame posted is certainly nice, but very close to the original, too. Don't wanna cause confusion.

why maintain the unofficial specs if the official ones are at least posted as a draft now? using an "unofficial" logo to make your stuff look similar to the official stuff probably isn't a good idea.

A very valid request. Remember, PortableApps splash and graphics may ONLY be used for releases by PortableApps.com. So you can't even use it to make a portable version of an application you offer yourself (because for example your app hasn't been picked up to become an official app released here).
So if you want to post the app somewhere you'll probably get a cease and desist mail from John if you use his trademarked graphics.
But DigitXP, maybe for now drop the splash screen altogether...
