I am in Patagonia trying to run fFox 2 port in iCafes from a usb2 drive. Every time I boot it up it is as if it reverts back to the first time. I have to reset the google tool bar. My home page has changed, auto update is on (all options setting go back to default), my bookmarks are lost and my about:config settings are gone. What causes this? What good is a portable app if it must be completely reconfigured every time you use it? I have tried both 1.5 and v2 & all is the same.
Any ideas/suggestions?

In other posts, they keep speaking of using the launcher. What is this launcher? Is it simply the fFox executable and the word launcher is used to differentiate from the installer or is it some other file or application?
Also, in the iCafes I have no control of the drive letter assigned to my usb drive, could this be the problem?
the launcher is FirefoxPortable.exe. this launcher creates a wrapper around firefox so your settings remain portable, and will launch firefox.exe.
