Mass Portability

Until recently I have been using a 1gb usb.
Then when I went to upgrade I saw a 120 gb Western Digital external/portale hard drive. Being tha newbie I am, I thought it would act the same as a usb just massive :o)
At first I was wrong as it had all this back up, sync, etc software on there that seemed good but wasn't really for my purposes. So I emptied the thing and all hidden files (Only a autorun.ini) then installed the PA suite onto it. All seems to go good. Haven't really had any trouble at all. Only thing is using it fully. I've got a few gigs of music and videos on there, most of the good apps that a low level pc user like me could use from PA.com and I've made a heap of other stuff using the PA Creator but still...

Can anyone direct me to some good games. Ive got Nexuiz and saurbretan and torcs and heaps more but looking for some more still. Also Glest looks brilliant. but I cant seem to get PAC to make it work properly and LOGANS launchers are down or something. Can someone please help me out here.

Plus apps... Need more apps... Ive put heaps of freeware and stuff on my passport but want more. I am trying to get it so I have my whole computer software suite or freeware alternatives on me to take anywhere for all occassions. It is hugely helpful when need be. I work a couple different jobs. One in a museum the other organising, promoting and coordinating hiphop/rnb music concerts. In both of these jobs my lil passport has been worth its weight in gold nearly a dozen times. 2 very recent examples are: I was able to use openoffices spreadsheet program (Though it is more than great for freeware still needs some more functions..but heres not the place for that it is a great app) to recreate the running order at the club as the guy I had hired to stage manage and who had the running order was a no show. The club owner had a printer but his pc was on the fritz so I borrowed a performers laptop (Which didn't have excel on it) and with some over the phone help from the my friend who is the ICT guy at my job at the museum I was able to link the laptop to the printer and then using openoffice I was able to open the Excel spreadsheet that had the running order on it, distribute copies to the performers, dj, mc, club owner and print a copy for myself as the stand in stage manager.

Another example at the same show was a rapper who hadn't show up for sound check was horrified when he went up on stage to perform only to find that his cd didn't work. We found out that it was in the wrong format. The solution was simple. I set up an open mike session on stage while using the programs on my passport I was able to convert the music on my friends pc and burn it. Still I wish Mediacoder or super converter or quick media converter were further in their bug fixing as if I had been able to use these The performers would have been able to use his back visuals as well.

Anyway portability (True no trace leaving) is priceless. I hope someone out there can help me and tell how to optimise my device and who knows maybe this idea or mass portability will catch on. In the mean time LOGAN where are your launchers. I been trying for a couple days now and cant access any. And to everyone else, Keep up the good work and my thanks.

I Know

I know Ive seen the the links on the threads and Ive tried many of them. I realise this is probably a nuisance for you but do you think you could just email me a copy of your Glest launcher or briefly upload it somewhere else? I really would like that game and the others but for now I would be very happy to just have Glest working.

Many Many thanks

Many Many thanks Travis

Thanks to Logan for making it

And sorry for causing any headaches to you all.

Though I should note that I did try these launchers at school as well as work and they didn't work there so Logan it may be worth duplicating and re-hosting your launchers on one of the larger sites like filefront or mediafire or something so everyone can access them.

Again my thanks to Travis Smile
