Great find! I'll check this out tonight. Not sure I'll be the one to PAF it, but I will play around with it and see how good it is.
Thank you Zach
well i can try to use PAC and see what i come up with. But it wont be a Portable Apps structure. Jus tlet me know if you want me to try to make, but is PAC doesnt work i have another way to make it
I think i'll be working on it this week. I have a bit more free time now.
Ok,just helping out
No news ?
Sorry...life got in the way lately. I can't make a guarantee as to when it will be ready, but i'll work on it, unless somebody else wants to do an official package
Well, i can make a unoffical version of this. Ill try to post it. i would have done it earlier but i got real busy, with SAT and AP Exams.
Ive been using Dfend or months now and have to say its made replaying those old dos games thru Dos Box a breeze
Add my support and thanks for this app to be ported. I know thru this I've been able to set my mother up on some old games she used to hog the pc playing when I was a kid like Leisure Suit Larry and Titus The Fox plus my little sister who's now 18 still can't get over the Trolls game she played at 9.
Thanks Zach for when this is ported and thanks ChEtTeDeBoEuF for suggesting it. I hadn't realised his was open-sourced till I saw your post.
Thanks PA.com
D-Fend is not OSS, D-Fend Reloaded is though. Check out the website for the differences between the two
Sorry I did actually mean D-Fren Reloaded just slack with the typing
Please let us know when ready to test as I can give you the results from 3 testers
I realise the beta wont be out for a while but just wanted to ask if you were still planning or currently were working o this?
Cheers
While i have more free time than before, less of it has been at the computer so no I havent worked on it yet. It's actually portable as is. There may be 1 or 2 drive letter changes that the launcher would need to handle though.
Good to know. Now I can set my mother, sister and brother up with dos game collections on the USBs Ive set up for them with the PortableApps Suite. Thanks Zach. Still will look forward to a PAFFED version as I think its like a seal of value for most of us non developers. Sort of like the CNET or Softpedia 5 star ratings. Anyway Cheers
Hey Zach
Any news on this at all? Dont mean to be pushy or whiney just really looking forward to this. If theres anythinh one can do to expediate process please let me know.
Anything??
Sorry but I know this app will be good not just for me but alot of others who dont have the know how or patience to use dos box effectively.
I too am eager to know if this is likely to be released in PAF format any time soon, or even if anyone is currently working on it. I love D-fend reloaded on my home computer, and having a package that contained it and dosbox as one portable app would be really sweet. I know that it currently has its own installation option for portable devices, but it causes havoc with the portable apps menu due to its directory structure, so I believe this would be the biggest hurdle to overcome.
This will extremely likely be as easy ask for anyone practised with the PAF format. It only leaves one or two registry keys behind so just gotta cover that and the folder structure, so please
Just a note for the people who were as intereseted in this app as I was. There is now a paf.exe package available from the D-Fend Reloaded website = )
You can find it under the Other Install Packages section. Enjoy = )
That's great! I'm new to this topic, but I've played with DOS Box (not the one from here - before) and found it hard to do anything. A proper frontend is probably exactly what I need.
Then it's just a matter of tracking down Carmageddon. I spent countless hours building up my car and stealing all the others. Eventually got the cop car by the end. There's a race that takes place entirely on the rooftops of buildings. I think one's a parking garage, so if you fall, you can get back up again. These new racing games are so damned precise and accurate. What's wrong with a racing game where you can either run all the checkpoints, kill all the other drivers, or kill all of the spectators to win? If they made a Carmageddon 4 for modern hardware it would be insane. But I will gladly settle for the first one.
The PAF package on the D-Fend Reloaded is a bit of a mess, I'll work on cleaning it up and then submit it to the original author.
