here

Synfig Studio
It's a doozie; requires 3 environments installed in a specific order to run.

Looks cool

but its still in a development state (version 0.6) so I think we should give it some time to get final.

Another Look

Hi All!!!

Just a background on Synfig Studio (just in case).

Synfig Studio is a free and open-source 2D animation software, designed as powerful industrial-strength solution for creating film-quality animation using a vector and bitmap artwork. It eliminates the need to create animation frame-by frame, allowing you to produce 2D animation of a higher quality with fewer people and resources. Synfig Studio is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS X.

I wanted to ask if this is still in consideration? The last update was a dev test release here back in 2009 (https://portableapps.com/node/32918) and it seems to have stopped there.

Synfig Studio is now on version 1 and has become more robust since then. The program and the source can be downloaded on their website here: http://www.synfig.org/cms/en/download/

Thank you for all your hard work.

Cheers,
Brian
