About Reqesting Apps

if u think that this should be posted in the request app's section and i understand what you are thinking but this is, yet to say, my discussion and my opinion.

looking around portableapps.com ive noticed that people have been requesting NON-Open Source Applications. We (the people at portableapps.com) currently only support Open source applications. Freeware applications are on portableapps.com but i have no clue weither or non John will have plans to support theses apps in the near future. ( if he does, i dont think they will not contain the main applications due to licence restrictions on freeware apps. ) we are not allowed to make portable versions of close source apps. ( its illigal last i checked ) so please dont request these.

Please check the licence on an app before requesting it. if its GPL, please make sure it isn't already in development. (which isnt happening the way i see it)

another thing, i've started actually using this tool, please search before posting for a request or a support question! If its a question about NSIS please search their main website. (im starting to find answers to most of my questions more and more often.) if its confusing, play with it for a while.

this is just my opinion on what i see around here. and feel free yourself to express yourself if you agree or want to add something to this node.

Speaking of

closed source, I think the best idea for freeware for the End User is to make the installer detect for the main app installer on the desktop, then extract it to the folder and delete it.
