I'm at school. I'll download and test now.
P.S. You forgot to close your list.
I'll let you know if I find anything.
Downloaded, tested, played with, looks good.
Functionality is all fine, it doesn't seem to leave anything behind, everything looks good.
Except.....
You seem to have gained an uninstaller, in
GnuCashPortable\App\GnuCash\uninstall\gnucash\
Other than that, looks great.
And thanks for all the effort you put in on these apps!
Forgot to remove that. Good catch. I don't think it rates another whole pre-release though, unless something else comes up.
John, when you package this up for release just remove App\GnuCash\uninstall.

We'll need to update the installer to remove that, too
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I've just tried it on windows vista ultimate sp1, and when I launched it the first time I got the following message:
"Changes to the registry must be made to enable some features and preven tconflicts with a non-portable GNU Cash installation. These changes require you to be logged in as a local administrator. Do you want to continue without making these changes? (Note: If you choose yes, you will not be pompted again).
is that a normal message, even if I don't have a local install of gnu cash?
Yes, that's normal. Note the "to enable some features" part. If you don't run it with admin rights it can't create the registry entries needed for online banking (which are unfortunately in HKLM). It will still run fine, just the online banking features won't all work.

Since it's a normal message, I can say that it works fine with vista Ultimate SP1
I had forgotten about that online banking issue until you mentioned it and the message makes sense now.
What are we thinking on this now folks?

John,
I have been using the various GnuCash Portable implementations since the first one appeared on this site. I use Shawn's on a daily basis, and consider it a rock solid application. I ditched Quicken happily quite a while ago for GnuCash. This latest implementation is as good as GnuCash gets - which is pretty damn good. You are the expert - but GnuCash Portable 2.2.5 looks to be release quality. His NSIS launcher is a thing of beauty!

This is ready to go. Don't want it to get lost in the cracks again
