Greetings all,
1)adding menu item
when I add new app. the "Wizard" asks for directory, which was created under Portables.
Funny thing is that I need only one exe to be reflected as a new item it the menu.
When there are several executables in the program's folder - all of them appear as menu items ??? Not good, because sometimes launching one of executables can cause unpredictable result. Say, one or more components were not design to be manually started
2)removing menu items
I remove the directory in order to remove menu items created earlier.
Then as soon as I recreate (copy directory back) with new updated package the menu appears immediately (automatically). I was expecting to use Add/Install again when I find it appropriate. Is it by design behavior? How to avoid such thing?
Thanks in advance
To help you further, what version of the menu are you using? And also if you are using an old one have you tried 1.1 beta 4 in the beta test forums

Hi Zach,
Sorry... silly me! I had that in mind from the very beginning of writing to put version... then my mind was gone
That behaviour applies to both versions. I am a new user of Portables. So I d-loaded the Standard as on Front Page
After I noticed the described happening I got beta anticipating that would be addressed & fixed.
Got only 120 DPI resolution fix (not bad too as that is the one I use) ... but "multiple EXEs" in menu and "Auto-restoration" of menu items remain the same in beta
Thanks again
Cheers
Yes but is it beta 4 of the 1.1 release it should have a little buddy icon on the top right hand side. Can you confirm?

Yes Zach,
the same behaviour is in Standard and in 1.1 beta 4 with buddy
downloaded from
https://portableapps.com/node/8450
which brings you to SorceForge
Cheers
Have you tried one of the Unsupported Mods of the Menu? that should fix your problem

Thanks Zach,
Now I tried it I wasn't aware of the "Unsupported Mods of the Menu" and it's good to know.
Well, it helped indirectly because it has "Hide" menu option,
which one can use. So my 4 spare items were successfully hidden by that.
At the same time the fact itself as for adding all executables present inside the Folder to the Menu haven't been addressed.
Quite frankly, I don't understand the purpose of such behaviour. Why can't we highlight one or more EXEs from the list and add menu item(s) just for those chosen?
My regards
