I'd like to set up my PortableApps Firefox toolbar to have the same functionality as my desktop version. In particular, I'd like to have Search Engine add-ons including Marketwatch and Wikipedia.
But when I go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:4/cat:80?sort=name , I can click "Add to Firefox" for MarketWatch, but I get this message:
Firefox could not install the search plugin from "https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downlaods/file/25765/marketwatc..." because an engine with the same name already exists.
All I see is the Google search bar and Google searches (and related Google searches, like "I'm feeling lucky" or "Google Maps").
What can I do to get back my search engine add-ons?
Thanks.
In Firefox Portable, your search engines are saved as xml files in D:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\searchplugins
I guess there is a similar folder in your local profile folder. Try copying them over and see if it works.

Thanks, Simeon, I deleted all the search plug-ins, including Wikipedia and MarketWatch. I added the MarketWatch search plug-in successfully, and verified that the .xml file was in the correct folder.
I restarted Firefox, but it still did not have MarketWatch available as a search plug-in.
I customized the toolbar and fixed the problem. Here's what confused me: There's a Google widget and a Search widget. The Search widget was on the toolbar by default with the desktop version, but the Google widget is on the toolbar by default with the PortableApps version.
I customized the toolbar by right-clicking on the toolbar and choosing Customize... Then I dragged the toolbar with the magnifying glass icon onto the toolbar, next to the Google widget.
Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.
