Importing settings

New at this... How would I go about importing my laptop TB settings onto my thumb drive? I'd like them to work the same, have my address book, etc.

I have the full TB on my laptop, and the portable TB on the thumb drive.

copy the profile ...

folder from the laptop version, and put it in the spot where there is a profile folder on the thumb drive.

Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.

Importing to TB portable

All I could see of your message was....
folder from the laptop version, and put it in the spot where there is a profile folder on the thumb drive.
What's the first part. Thanks.

importing settings

Thanks for the 1st part.... I copied profile into the portable. It wiped out all settings + no address book. I'd saved the original profile, so I replaced it and got my settings back. On my laptop, buried in documents & settings, there are files for 'abook' (address book I assume), but I find no similar place in the portable to copy them to. Any ideas?

its all in your

profiles folder (\ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile):

The file abook.mab is your addressbook.

Another way to do this

would be to download and install the extensions called "accountex", then export the settings from one account and import them into the other. You also have to export and import your address book as well.
