Notepad++... portable spellcheck

The only way to get spellchecking in notepad++ is to install ASpell+Dictionary.

Is there anyway around this? :/

No

I dont think so. And the Notepad pages says it needs Aspell too.

It works just fine

If you want, I can upload my version.

But that shouldn't be necessary because all you need to do is copy the installed files to where notepad++ resides and change the location ../aspell to ./aspell

Thanks

By that, you mean there is some configuration file with that path in it?

Any idea?

I hate to bump this, but anyone else have any idea about the ../aspell part?

None of the files contain any paths to such... :/

Thanks for

bumping it Smile cause it made me solve the issue.
In Notepad++, go to "Plugins"-"Spell-Checker"-"How to use..." or type Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S.
That opens a little spellchecker plugin´s Aspell menu. I have all the aspell files copied to the pidgin directory so I can use Pidgin with Aspell. As the path in Notepads window is relative, adjusting it should work.

EDIT

I just found this post and it has a simpler solution I think.

EDIT2

Its not a simpler solution but explained better Smile

Ok

Well first Issue I had was I didnt have 1.2, I've done that now and it allows me to change the path in the page you said.

But it doesn't like a path of the length ..\..\..\CommonFiles\Aspell\bin, it always cuts off the "in" on the end... but in their example it was ok.

Changing say my CommonFiles path to CF it all works fine.

Thanks
Simon

yes

in the other post the author says that the path's length is lmited. But I thought he´d fixed that. Maybe not.

"As you type" spellchecker for notepad++ is available

Why are you still using the ridiculous notepad++ spellcheck when an "As you type" spellchecker for notepad++ is available ?
