Tested 50%

Works Great really like it. It still asking me for the Debug program in order to work well on XP but I am using Vista. Also in the drop menu the highlighted commands, move around when I try too pick "kill".

Are you still looking for a new logo?

For the drop down menu issue

For the drop down menu issue you will need to contact the author of the base application. For the Debug popup, it applies to XP and Vista, the popup text just hasn't been updated. That's also something to contact the original author about. I may send him a link to this topic tonight.

For the help, I will try to contact the author about the drop down menu issue. Thanks for all the help I'll also try to add the Debug program tonight or tomorrow morning, again thanks for the response.

I contacted the author. Here

I contacted the author. Here is his response:

I don't have time to check one more forum, really. I copied the report in two bugs at Daphne forum [http://forum.drk.com.ar/viewforum.php?f=2].
I can reply you any time you need, and then you can respond the users at PortableApps.

The bugs:

"It still asking me for the Debug program in order to work well on XP but I am using Vista. ..."

Reply: Debug privileges are required by Windows XP and over, including Vista. As long as the this message disappears once you have given the privileges to the Windows user; it is not a bug.

"... in the drop menu the highlighted commands, move around when I try too pick "kill"."

Reply: I don't quite understand this problem. If you order the process list by CPU consumption certain process change positions constantly. If you right click one of those process and try to click a menu item you may be afraid of executing the command over the wrong process. That won't happen, as Daphne keeps the right process selected.
I don't know if I did answer the right question.

Sorry

For not responding sooner been busy with school and stuff, I had to study for my final for this week Sad . Thanks for the info I really appreciate it, I will get back to testing it on Monday.

P.S I know this is going to sound dumb but I tried to set the debug program privileges to Vista by typing "secpol.msc" in the run command like it ask at the DRK Website. But Vista tells me it can't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks. Smile

Excellent.

Daphne works really well, and it's saved my butt on a few occasions. So, great job, Zach. Smile

  1. If there are no options you'd expect to send to the GUI version, it would be trivial to change the $EXECSTRING to the CLI program when parameters are passed.
  2. If both programs might expect options,
    1. you could have the launcher choose which app to run based on $EXENAME (DaphnePortable.exe or dcp.exe) and have the installer simply copy the executable, but there's currently no way to hide the CLI version in PAM;
    2. you could use SplitCmdLine.nsh to look for a sentinel argument indicating that the CLI version is desired (e.g., "DaphnePortable dc ps" where dc is the sentinel argument).

In my brief perusal, I didn't find any options for the GUI version, so it seems the first option would be preferable.

Only trivial testing so far, but it looks good!  -hea

After looking into the

After looking into the command line version, most of the options, in there current implementations would not be especially useful.

I think for now, I will ignore the command line version. I do plan to incorporate it, and will work on the code to do so, but it's not a pressing issue for the time being.

Fine

Yeah, you're fine ignoring the command line option for now. The GUI is of far more use to most people.

Icon Suggestion

Mirror the geers horizontally before overlaying the magnifying glass. That'll give us a more-square icon that'll look better at 16px. Smile

I've just had the chance to test this on vista ultimate sp1, and it seems to work well and leaves nothing behind.

Maybe :-) If Zach doesn't

Maybe :-) If Zach doesn't mind. Although I can't get auto language switching working as I can't see how the app is told to use another language instead of English (which is built-in so there aren't any files to manipulate) and I can't find any info anywhere. Any ideas anyone?

Also, I noticed all the applanguage stuff was commented out in the last release (1.37) so maybe it's good to go without the switching?
