email send failure

My account settings in TB portable on my thumb drive are the same as I have in the full program. However, it won't send. Ideas?

could be a couple of things ...

that is the problem. Is your firewall blocking access to the ports? Every time I transfer my usb tbp to my laptop as my backup (about once a month), and then use the laptop tbp, it gives me a warning that I have to allow the program access on the ports.
What else or what error message are you getting?

Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.

I'll ck my firewall.
No error message. The progress bar just runs & runs till it says 'failure'. Ultimately it does suggest no internet access or connect to server. But it is connected and on line.

No problem with downloading mail.

Outgoing Server

Are you sure the outgoing server for the account isn't specific to your home network?

Doesn't the outgoing server have to be network specific? I switch my default to fit the 2 networks I use. Is there a generic?

try changing the outgoing server port to 587

Alot of networks limit sending of email on port 25 (the default for TB) to their own emails, so there is the possibility your work might be doing the same.

A common alternate outgoing email port is 587. Try changing it to that and see if that works.

I'm going to try Port 587 & see. Is there something special about that port?
