I don't know about Linux specific apps, but everything here runs on WINE. search for it in the package manager.
There is no such thing as portable applications for Linux. You can make same symlinks to avoid writing data to local disk and redirecting it to your pendrive, but nothing more.
about 3/4 of the apps listed on the compatibility page work with Wine.
I've been reading about OSS, and found that wine is a layer of compatibility that allows windows programs to run natively on Linux.
