Problems with opening portable exe on public comp?

Are there problems with opening a portable exe while on a public computer. I travel with a motorcycle and I'm tired of bringing my lappie. I have partitioned a 2.5 enclosure so I could install Ubuntu on one drive with my data on separate drives. I did this in the hope that I could boot into Ubuntu on a library computer but you can't boot because you don't have admin rights to change the boot order so......

So I'm hoping I can install portable apps on the drive and use these apps to access my enclosure data.

Will a public computer allow me to open a portable exe?

Thanks

No shouldn't be any trouble

No shouldn't be any trouble at all, I used to use Library computers all the time and they worked for me, of course then all computers are different anyways, Give it a try and you should see if it works or not Smile

Thanks Zach, I'm glad to hear

Thanks Zach, I'm glad to hear success is near. I'm heading that way now but I ran into some problems with a bad combination of hardware and software. I bought a cheap Chinese enclosure, an expensive and large 250gig 2.5HD and then partitioned it with an old version of Partition Magic, the result was not pretty.

I'm going to order a 'good' quality enclosure and finally move to some updated HD software. PM worked good for me for lots of years but my old version struggles with the newer breed massive drives and I've had problems with corrupt partitions.

But it sounds like I'm heading a viable direction

Thanks
