I put PFF3 RC1 on my USB drive today and gave it a try. I noticed it is leaving files behind. They are left in the folders of the local install of Firefox. Two folders are created. One called Crash Reports and the other called Extensions. They are located at
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Extensions
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports
I delete them and they are recreated every time I use PFF3 RC1. They were not there before running PFF3 RC1
Are they deleted after closing PFF3?
Most of our applications here will access/create data in %APPDATA% or the registry. Our launchers dont wrap the programs to be stand-alone, but they do back up local settings for the app if it is installed, move the portable settings into place, then on closing of the app, the launcher saves the user's portable settings back to the portable device, and restores the local settings.

No they are not deleted after closing PFF3. I delete them manually and they are recreated when I launch PFF3 again.
Any chance you're using a FirefoxPortable.ini with multiple instance support on?

I don't know of this feature first I am hearing off it. I installed PFF3 RC1 to my thumb drive just as I did with PFF 2 and all other portable apps. I didn't change any ini file.
Having the same problem with RC2. To the extent that's useful data...
So am I to assume that nobody else is is experiencing this?
I am also having this problem with a clean install of FF3-RC1 portable.
Me too. I've been getting annoyed at FF3 Portable, to be honest. It's also holding onto cookies after I told it to delete them when I close the browser.
Release candidate two does it two. The extentions folder is empty, but not the crash reports. I took a photo of the folders in peazip. Each image goes one folder deeper.

The following directories are created during use of Firefox:
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Extensions
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports
The launcher will remove them on exit.
If you're using the FirefoxPortable.ini file, the situation may be different depending on the options you pick. Especially AllowMultipleInstances which, as always, should only be used on your own machine where you don't mind leaving things behind.

but if a local version is installed, it adds a file to the Crash reports folder but doesn't delete it on exit. I don't know what the file's content is - maybe its not "personal data" and thus can be ignored...?
