Could you tell us about it's license, is it OSS, Open Source Software?

GPL but it appears to be KDE only software

And for those who don't/didn't know, like me
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE
... not only a set of applications, but rather a desktop environment, in which users could expect things to look, feel, and work consistently

Does that mean GPL is not open to port it to a portable app under Windows?
I think he means we'd have to port KDE before we could port Basket Note Pads.

Indeed it would. I, personally, am not put putting high priority on
making it work on Windows (I run Linux); but if anyone wants to
maintain a fork, go ahead.
Because we're going to be based off KDE4 (soon), this shouldn't be
_that_ daunting a task.

Maybe the frontpage of this site should clearly state Windows only untill we start with Linux.
But on the other hand, I used live CD Linux and was able to temporary install apps so all of Linux already has a crude way of being portable.
Very clear is that PortableApps.com is for portable Windows application. And it is the best organized website and community for this kind of open source development.
portable applications for linux, some try to use WINE on Linux for it:

portable applications for mac osx:

My question/request is to port Basket Note Pads from a Linux/KDE application to a portable windows application.
