Is a 1.x Version of Thunderbird Portable Still Available?

I'm not looking to make any trouble here. I was using a 1.x version of Thunderbird Portable (1.5 I think) and it worked great. Today I did a clean install of TP 2.0.0.14 (deleted 1.x and installed 2.0.0.14) and it's just not working out.

Can I still get my hands on an installer for 1.x?

Google Was My Friend

Should've Googled before taking up your time. I'm all set now. Thanks.

Best To Update

If there are a couple things in 2.0 you don't like, it's best to learn how to adjust them (with settings) or change them (with extensions). Support for Thunderbird 1.5 was dropped in October of last year. There may very well be security issues. And with something like an email or web browser, you want to make sure that you're up to date to protect yourself and the computers you use your portable apps on.

I still use 1.5 because of a few irritations in 2.0....

Mainly with the message search feature being dropped in 2.0 (the drop down "view" menu), even with an extension, its difficult to use to sort my messages by "labels" (or "tags" in 2.0). Are there any known security issues with 1.5?

Probably

Probably, but they aren't tracked since 1.5 was replaced by 2.0 by auto-update.

You can add the View drop down back just by right-clicking the toolbar and selecting customize. See other tips here:

In that case...

For the sake of my security - which I highly value - I upgraded to TBird 2.0.0.14. I have a few irritations with it but they aren't [em]your[/em] fault, John. And while I have your attention, thanks for the new PAM.

the missing features ...

how so?
I have a search box to search by subject, sender, message, to/cc
and I can sort by the tags too from the main install.

Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.
