Toucan + Mozilla

this program should have the ability to sync my firefox and thunderbird bokmarks, mails, settings, etc in order to allow me to use firefox 3 at least. I've looking on the web, and there's some google synk program, but it has to be online to do it's magic, also it's been made to synk from pc to pc, differs from the portble idea.

Well, Here's my solutions for some of those.

Firefox Bookmarks: Foxmarks. It has a version of its extension that should work with both FF2 and FF3.

Thunderbird Contacts: Zindus is an extension that syncs your gmail contacts with thunderbirds', or you can have it as a seperate folder.

Settings: check out OPIE...I've had no luck with it, but perhaps you will. It's a FF extension.

An IMAP mail system would fix that, I use one at work, but idk if you'd be able to change it...

And yeah. Hope that's helpful!

I've come to really like

I've come to really like Synkron (search the forum for the portable version) for file and folder sync. It takes a little getting used to, and the documentation is online only, but once you get the idea, it's really powerful. I've made some suggestions that the developer might implement which should round some things out, like a whitelist and regular expression support.

Re. OPIE, I've used it with success. Along with FEBE it makes a nice combo. Not sure why Tab Mix Plus isn't identified correctly, but the root path for it is 'extensions.tabmix'
