I signed up

The release date is next tuesday? Wow. I'd better get ready. Also, I do not think this was posted before. Actually, I was gonna post this once the release date was announced.

Download

Make sure you download it, not just update! (A "download" is the transmission of the entire, fully functioning Firefox 3 -- not an update. - FAQ)

I'd guess John will have

I'd guess John will have Firefox 3, Portable Edition ready to go next Tuesday too. Will downloads of that count toward the record?

Will we be able to use Portable Apps Updater to get FF3?

I think

only downloads from their site count.

They don't say which

They don't say which website(s) count. I plan on getting the source tarball from ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/. Would that count or only the binary packages linked from spreadfirefox.com?

Regular

I'd go ahead and get the regular one, and then download the ftp tarball too if you like.

HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD MY COPY OF FIREFOX 3 IF I CAN'T GET TO THEIR WEBISTE TO DOWNLOAD IT?!!!!!!!

I AM STARTING TO PANIC!!!

(these caps are the representation of me screaming in panic, so, please, don't remove them, moderators Biggrin )

EDIT: Will it count if we download it from their ftp servers at release.mozilla.org ?

Thanks for the tip!

I don't care about the record and just want to replace a balky 2.0.0.14 (problem started over the weekend due to an out of control extension). Thanks again!

No.

Direct download from the FTP servers don't count.

Record time.

The pledge button is gone. download Firefox 3!

http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/

Edit: The button brought me to the FireFox 2 page. Whats going on here?
Edit: Another dead link. Says firefox 3, goes to #2. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
Edit: I'm just gonna wait until Mozila gets their act together.

A little slow getting the download page to come up, but bad fast downloading from the mirror.
