Hello, the topic explains it all. Can this be done? Can I instruct my Desktop FF to read the bookmarks from my USB drive and if the USB drive is not plugged-in, to read its own bookmarks on the hard drive?

Isn't there a registry entry or a config file that includes the path where the Bookmarks are stored?
A profile is a self-contained thing. All files must be a part of the profile. You can't pick and choose.
