Couldn't you just make a "shutdown.exe -s -t 0" shortcut and be done with it?
Did you make this app yourself?
BTW i think starting portableapps to shut down or restart pc seems a weird idea.
I made a Batch file to do the same thing but it is sloppy.
self.path = path if self.path == None else self.path

Me too (well actually it was a shortcut file but... same thing).
Reminds me of calculator portable (System calc w/ a splash...)

as I use an external hard drive between work and home, and every once in a while, the computer refuses to release the drive because of some unknown file in use... restarting the computer is one way in which I can disconnect my drive from my office computer. BTW my office computer has to run 24/7...
aka Major PITA... ask me what it means, as you will be amused...
Sysinternals has two tools that can help find files in use. handles is a command line tool while Process Explorer is a GUI tool. Both have searching modes that can find a file and show you what program is using it, so you can close the program. If you're fairly certain it's a LEAKED handle (the program isn't using it anymore) you can even force it closed (I have to do this every so often with XP Explorer), although if it's not really leaked the app will probably crash so be careful.
Google for your flavor (sysinternals handles for console or process explorer for GUI).
I find this to be faster than rebooting.
Signature automatically removed for being too awesome.
Maybe add an undock/stop and logout option?

I think it can be useful but how does it work? I know what it does but can it shut down you computer no matter what local drive you are running windows from? My XP is installed on my local disk D
