To John: Drupal setup?

Hey John, Me and a friend was starting a website, I noticed you have drupal installed, We got started on drupal a few weeks ago, it's no painless but it's ok. I'm a bit curious how your setup is. What modules do you have installed? What is the best theme to modify as your own? And how do you manage your content, do you use templates?

Thanks.

It's not painless? It was painless when I installed it (it was just a little intellectually challenging :P).
I asked him in the off-topic forum, but Sad he doesn't go there...
I think he doesn't really have any more modules than the core modules and the SimpleNews module.
In the themes, there are themes called 'template' themes that are designed to be modified.
The content, there are guidelines... I don't think templates are supported in Drupal. Good luck! (BTW, what's your site?)

Just a quick response (maybe

Just a quick response (maybe more later)

I use Drupal, I'm a Drupal developer.
Some of the modules used:
Smileys (disabled at the moment, waiting for official release for 6.x)
Spam
SimpleNews
Mark As Read (somewhere for Drupal 5, I updated it to Drupal 6; search this forum!)
Views (/app, /tracker (so that off-topic posts don't show)

Categorisation is done with taxonomy
Views also play a big part.

More later.

I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.
